December Warehouse

denim jacket

Dear Friends,
This challenging year we are opening our design project to the public and have subscribed you to our email list.
Please note we expect to send an email about every 6 - 8 weeks and the unsubscribe will stop all email.
Forgive our instrusion if subscribed by accident or unesscarily and would appreciate unsubscribing before using spam folder.

Our background is in art, design and some manufacturing.
So it makes sense we are a studio and factory.
We design clothes, originate patterns, source textiles and sew it all together.

As designers we care about the fit and function of the garment.
As pattern makers we care that integrity of design is carried through to the end result.
Too often high volume production optimizes patterns for better cost efficiency.
The trade off is in wearability and fit.
We feel like fairly paid skilled labor and quality patterns make for better overall value in a garment.
and we aim to make durable things you will wear everyday and for a long time.
(and won't feel bad about spending a little more than usual for clothing.)

Most garments made 50 years ago were made to fit and wear well.
Today if you buy a tshirt for 2.00 dollars it will likely fit in the right range but jackets are a different matter.

the 60's coats and jackets were sold by a size, not just a range like size 40 instead of medium.
making clothes to a size is not optimal for mass production but better for fit.

so right now we are making jackets.
We expect to have a modest set of jackets from waist length to knee over the next year.

Bakker Brown Warehouse will be putting out more jackets December, January, February.
Our best warehouse price is available online at the website shopping cart by putting warehouse in the parcel field.
This pricing structure will be in effect until until retail partnerships take precedence and then only at the actual warehouse will best pricing be available.

All patterns available in custom sizes and fabrics,
making your chart is about 20 minutes, muslin pattern fitting another 20 minutes, and a plus 50.00 upcharge.

We hope you'll consider making an appointment to try on a jacket sometime soon.

Hope all is well,
our best,

Tim and Ceci
